You know I've played T-34-2 before 9.13 and I runs 122mm which has the same gun depression the KV-85 has right now but it's still pretty much inferior because of the inability to fire at lower weakspot at closer range at that range of tier is severe plus the penetration is also the same, so the only opponent that I can engage (bully) at close range is the one that doesn't have so much gun depression and come with squishy hull (which are mostly tier 6) which are pretty rare at that range of tier or I'll have to spam gold shell. So, no matter which gun you run, you still out gun most of your opponent and to balance it out, the gun depression must be nerfed to keep the still-OP firepower. Just like the ISU one shot tier 6 med, the old KV-1S one shot everything tier 4 except heavy and so do the current KV-85 except that KV-85 has one more toy to play around, the 100mm gun that fire very fast (faster than tier 8 med's). The old KV-1S is likes ISU-152 with turret and -3 more depression at tier 6.
